Valerie has also cultivated a relationship with local radio station , 98.1 WKDD and has performed at various events hosted by the station.   Valerie has come a long way in her career as a musician.  She has played with acts such as The Calling, South Side Johnny, the Dave Matthews Cover Band, Wanda Hunt, and Logan Wells.

Among other testimonials to her talent, Valerie was chosen to be featured as the cover model for the 2005, 2006, and 2007 Washburn Oscar Schmidt International Dealer Catalog, selected to participate in the New Year's celebration, First Night Akron 2004 and 2006 and the 2004 Millennium Music Conference in Pennsylvania.

Scratch Track

SCRATCH TRACK is a new acoustic duo that blends funk, folk, hip hop, rock, and gospel to create one of the most refreshing and unique sounds to hit the music industry in many years.

ScratchTrack mixes rapid-fire lyrics, street poetry, languid harmonies, driving guitars, and explosive percussive vocals, all contributing to their rich musical gumbo. DJ Lee says “like the blues, our music is a combination of rural and urban influences, of the street and the church, the north and the south.”

The group members met each other and formed the unit in 2000 while going to Union University in Jackson, Tennessee, 80 miles east of Memphis. They honed their skills at campus events and coffeehouses, and toured a couple of summers while in college throughout the Midwest, Southeast and even Germany. Lately, they have been performing from coast to coast with such acts as, Living Colour, Jurassic 5, Will Hoge, Jars of Clay, Los Lonely Boys, Teitur, Dave Matthews Cover Band, and many more Regional and National Acts.

The band admits, “This whole thing started originally just as an artistic release and a way to get away from the stress and pressures of college, we were (and still are) just three friends hanging out. We had the opportunity to play one song at a Variety Show at our college and the crowd went crazy. After that experience, we decided to start writing and taking this music thing a little more seriously.”

ScratchTrack - street-wise and socially aware, all set to a musical good time. They are among the vanguard of new groups who are redefining the possibilities of Contemporary Music.
